Strathmore has an established tradition of fostering art appreciation and education for all ages. Art lovers are welcome to tour the galleries on their own and enjoy the collected works, ranging from permanent installments to collaborative exhibitions, with institutions such as the Baltimore Museum of Art, The Walters Art Museum, and the Corcoran Gallery of Art. For additional insight and education, Strathmore offers a series of lively and provocative art lectures given by Strathmore Fine Art Director Millie S. Shott. Young visitors at Strathmore have a multitude of opportunities to learn about and experience art. During our Children's Talks and Tours, children and their families are given specially-guided tours of the artworks by Strathmore's Fine Arts Director. Also included are storytelling sessions and a chance to create a masterpiece in a hands-on art activity. For budding young artists, the Shop at Strathmore offers an enticing selection of art projects and books and musical toys for children.
Every summer at the Children's Summer Art Camp, children ages 5-12 are taught painting, printmaking, collage and sculpture by professional artists. To learn more about Art Camp, click here.
